"For many years I was at an unhealthy weight, which I knew could lead to health problems. I was on blood pressure medication for several years and my cholesterol was increasing every time I had it checked. I felt like losing weight at my age would be a real challenge, but I knew that if I didn't make a lifestyle change this would only get worse the older I became."

"My goal in my high school gym class was to avoid it. I was not athletically inclined and over time, my sedentary lifestyle caught up to me - a pound at a time.
